Hey Guys,

I have fought off the UAS for months now. Came super close to getting an 8 string from MusicGuyMic with a pickup.... But my GF texted me and said we should go on a trip at the end of next month...

I said how does Hawaii sound... So we're going th the islands and I'm going to Buy a Uke in person! I'm Stoked!...

I'm thinking about the PONO 8stringwith a pickup...

Plus i may pick up a nice Soprano from a lady in my office tomorrow! . Her Father in law has a couple that she is selling for him and i may get the lot real cheap!!! Woo hoo!

I was plannin on spending about $600 at first, but i may bump that up to 1,200 if i'm flying out there for it - any sugestions??

Booked the travel... Trips a go... Woohoo...

May see about taking a Lesson from an island pro or something :D

So i' be getting a really nice uke while i'm down there :D

and the Lady at work finally brought the ukes she was selling in... nothing fancy, a cheap concert uke, (made by Broddah?) and a Brandless Baritone Uke... gave her 50 bucks for the both of them... not too bad.. the Bari will be decent after a new set of strings...

Envious I am. I tried to get Susan to agree to a holiday in Hawaii this winter, an alternative to our usual two weeks in Zihuatanejo. She almost bit until I mentioned casually that Hawaii was the heartland of ukuleles. So it's back to Mexico again for us this winter... however, I plan to bring my Fluke south so she can't escape that easily!

we're going to Oahu - I'm planning on checking out Musicguymic's store, but also want to See the Gambit... on the island... maybe check out a place that makes them...

Be sure to look closely at the Kiwaya's musicguymic has. They're flawless.

And be sure whatever you buy sounds good all the way up the neck. Fancy looking expensive ukes don't always equal good sound.

Have fun....without us. :(

Looks like I'll be getting a kanilea super tenor. Picked it from the production line. It is a k1 but has very nice patterns in the wood. They will install a preamp under saddle pickup at the factory. The super tenor has a larger body for a deeper sound
