Actually, this was at the Ottawa Folk Centre and every instrument they had on display that I tried was in tune, including all the ukes. The sales woman had a chromatic tuner on a lanyard and even tweaked one uke a bit to get it to pitch before handing it to me.

That being said, the OS ukes didn't move me quite enogh even when tuned. I was tempted by the Cole Clark, but at $1,100, my interest outpaced my financial reach. I might have been able to get away with coming home with a $100 uke in my luggage, but not one 11 times that!
