"Every song is from negativity."

Well, that kinda makes sense about a few of them. But mostly I'm a happy guy.

I write about the good, bad, and the ugly. Many of the political positions in my songs contradict. That's OK with me, I suppose.

Just my opinon. Got a negative vibe from every song (bad wife, bad Bush, evil Cheney etc.)

Hey! Free speech. Do your thing. Fine by me.

I'm 53, and been there, done that (been a barefoot lib, and now a conserve). I like instrumentals, and old blues.

Carry on.

OK. Well that's two songs as opposed to the entire catalogue, so I guess that's better. My teaching partner, who is from Sierra Leone, heard "Dickmouse" and said "You Americans" (with a chuckle).

I must say that Married Misery, Blueberry Pancakes, Against My Own Advice are all purely fictional. My wife/significant other/life partner happens to be one of the best people I know.

I have written one song "seriously" for our 10th:
Modern Cave Man (10th Anniversary Song) play

Here's some happy crap for you:
Footprints on the Sand play

Hey John, I like the caveman song. How do you post those here? I only have only one song on digital. A short blues ditty done in two takes (rhythm, then lead) on my Zoom. I'll post it, then you can laugh at me ;o)

Well. I created an account, and uploaded my little blues ditty. How to get it here... I have NO idea.

It's there though LOL!!!

Maybe in a few weeks I'll figure out how to post it here.

Edit: maybe this will work?

Cool. Are you playing all of the instruments? Is that a Yamaha drum machine I hear? Or Alesis. Boss?

That's a fun tune. It's blues, but happy blues? Honkey-tonkish.

Thanks. It's a Zoom PS-04. A palmtop-sized recorder. I used a drum and bass track from the unit, and played rhythm guitar (Strat) with a "clean/jazz" mode, then lead in one take, with "duplex/overdrive" mode. It's a cool little device, but not easy to use.

I'm not a public performer, so it's all I've recorded so far ;0)

BTW, all blues is happy blues IMO.

Bitter, "Kos Kid" stuff.

Not my cup.

edit: I do hope he writes a song about me, though I've probably not annoyed him quite enough yet...

Every song is from negativity, John.

But hey, a free nation.

Saludos.

Hey John,  you even get unsolicited reviews.....I'm jealous.  :joker:

Hey Neal, "move on".

John has a sharp wit. I like that. He can take a shot.

Tom, there's this joke on the board about how it's like pulling teeth to get folks to review/critique our music.

Neal's making fun of himself here (and me...that's OK) because he had this song and asked and asked and asked...and finally got some replies. I didn't even have to ask!

Huh?  You wouldn't by chance also be Ukelele Mike on the Fleamarket board, would you?

And John, I didn't ask, I begged and pleaded for support from the community for it's contributors, all of them, and all to deaf ears.  Oh well.  But, yes, it was tongue-in-cheek, as is the next bit:

I suppose I'll "move on" now.  Nice meeting you TomHB.

Never heard of him.

Or any of his songs.

Hey Neal, good stuff.

I gave your songs a fair listen, and thanks.

Great stuff, even.

Thanks to John as well.

We're not *necessarily* on the same political side, John, but "civil angst" makes the World go 'round...

;o)
