Like the topic says, I'm trying to find some exercises that will help with fingerpicking.

Can anyone suggest something that's maybe two-fold? Something were I could learn some scales and improve my fingerpicking?

I'm proficient in travis picking but once things get out of a pattern, I something get all sorts of screwed up...

Hmm, the ones on this site are nice, and the pieces in the various John King books (Hawaiian Solos and Duets, for example) are good for that. I know it's classical guitar, but I highly recommend the exercises in Scott Tenant's Pumping Nylon. Most of them are easily adapted to the ukulele.

If anyone wants to write in some ukulele-specific places to get fingerpicking exercises, I'd appreciate it just as much as jef :)

Hi Jef -

I just bought a DVD called Play Uke Loud" by Jake Shimabukuro, and it has a lot of "learning" sessions on it with quite a few related to picking and strumming.
Jake tends to play electric, but a lot of the picking looks very similar to flamenco picking a friend taught me. Check it out. tower records sells it.

Spank that Uke!

Hey Jef...

I'm kind of assuming you've already tried the fingerpicking the exercises on ezFolk, but if not, you can find them here...
