I love a good argument.  For the life of me I don't see what anyone sees in Dave Matthews.  He bores me.  My son thinks he hung the moon.

Viva  la differance....YA

Stone99--I remember reading in Keyboard magazine one time where Peter Gabriel said he was primarily a vocalist. I tried not to laugh out loud. It's all so very subjective, I guess.

I wouldn't toss stones in that glass house in which you reside, ukeforever...

Gabriel is an awesome singer. Maybe you missed the early Genesis albums, and perhaps even missed his solo work. Or maybe you just have a very odd taste in music.

"I always expect the lowest common denominator when dealing with rock "musicians" like [highlight= #ffff88]Vedder."

gosh ukeforever, i thought it was cool when eddie started playing songs on the uke.  he is partly responsible for me going out and buying my first uke.  eddie is just one of those rare exceptions in the rock world; a really dynamic person who lives to explore new music at every turn.  i can still remember him saying back in the early '90's, "fuck rock stars."  that's always been his stance.  stone99 was right, he's about all that's good in music, and in people.

Hey Yukeforever... what do u do?... I would love to hang you out in front of as many people as Eddie Vedder or Peter Gabriel are hung in front of... it would be so much fun to watch your ignorant "arm Chair" OPINIONS get judged.. though.. maybe I DETECT SOME JEALOUSLY. I mean... really, if you are so amazing... tell me, where is your platinum CD?... Do u need a hug?

Whoa there.  If there is one thing I hate about forums, it's when people start ragging on each other.  This is not about scoring points, people, it's about ukeleles.

UkeForever's initial comments about Vedder may have been snide and gratuitous, and maybe he could have tried to be more gracious when taken to task for that.  But lets face it: no one can be snarkier about the music they don't like then peopled who really love music.  I have certainly had to eat my share of crow about a range of musicians, including Willie Nelson, U2, Neil Young, the Grateful Dead, and yes, Pearl Jam too.   So let him who has never dissed a band unfairly (or at all) cast the first stone at poor UkeForever.  He doesn't have to love Eddie Vedder--no one has to--and if any of us had platimum records we wouldn't be hanging around here, now would we?

So, play nice, can we?  Lets focus on helping people play the song they want to learn.

Oh my, I have to admit, this is the first I've read this thread.  Mainly as it was about Vedder, and I'm not a fan of PJ.  And it's a real old thread, but what the heck.

I was a little worried at the tone in the middle, but happy it was resolved by a little humility at the end.  Good on you Stone99.  I've done that.

Nothing else to add. It's kinda a no-post.
