Hi i am a member of an english uke band. Me and the band are trying to define our style and to make a mark in the local music scene. We have only ever played one gig and that was in front of about 7 people. We have only 2 songs currently. We have no set style and will play any type of uke music but we prefer rock music playing best.

The first song is one we made up it starts with an intro on my electric uke and an electric guitar then it suddenly jumps into heavy rock via a metal pedal and my uke. (Suprisingly the electric uke is great for playing rock bits on) The second is about a rookie cop and was made by my friend its a humourous song done intirely on acoustic uke.

Anyway i am trying to create a song. It will played on an electric uke and i am looking for chords that are lower than normal uke chords. Baring in mind it will be on the electric uke so it will naturally be lower than an acoustic ukulele anyway but i was wondering is there any blues/jazz/etc chords that are different from the standard chords?

Also if anyone else plays rock on the uke we'd be really interested to hear bout it, or if anyone else has a risa-electric or uses a metal pedal.

Thanx AD :fence1:

p.s if you have an electric uke and have never tried a metal pedal i recommend you buy one right now! you'd be suprised at how amazing it can sound when it is distorted.:uke:

you should check out the 'electric ukulele lady' rose turtle ertler. she's actually in europe someplace now. her cd ping pong princess would be an eye opener for you.  it's available at ukulele.org.

other groups that might interest you are waste of aces, songs from a random house, pineapple princess (i think that's their name)

rock on!
