So my new uke arrived today. There was a note in the case warning about the dangers of low humidity for wood instruments. I live in Tampa, Fl. Right now the humidity outside is 94%, so I am sure I have no problem there. But, I know that heaters and air conditioners also affect humidity. My questions is to any other Floridians out there. Do you find that you need a humidifier to protect your instruments, or is Florida pretty safe?  Thanks --- Jim

I think that in terms of adequate humidity, Florida is safe from low humidity.  The colder the air is, the less moisture it naturally holds, and because Florida rarely gets very cold for very long, you shouldn't have to worry about low humidity.
