How do I know what stumming pattern to use when reading chords for songs that I've found online? For example, UkuleleHunt said for Yael Naim's New Soul - For the strumming, I like to use down, down, up, down, up, down, up for most of the chords.I've pretty much have that song down because I know the strum pattern, but I cannot figure out how to... figure out how to strum to other songs that don't supply me the strum pattern! Thanks in advance if you could give me any advice!

Most chord-lyric sheets and so-called fake books just give you the chords positioned over the lyric syllable, but leaves the style of playing of the chords to the individual player.  In general, on a uke or guitar, you would normally strum downwards on the accented beat (also called the downbeat).  The up-strum is usually the means of setting up your next downward strum.   It would be best to practice this strummng with songs that you already know by heart.

Thanks for replying.. But so, for instance, if these tabs (like in the link below) don't have a strum pattern provided, I just make it up on my own as a ukulele player?

That link is really a chord-lyric sheet (as I had described in my previous post), not really a tabulature, which shows a continuous fretboard diagram and the notes played in what sequence, from left to right.  Tabulature comes in handy for instrumental pieces where there are no lyrics to indicate the timing of the chord changes.

Chord changes are nearly always on the downbeat, so you would make a downward strum on the chord.  If it's an unfamiliar song, you will have to try to figure out what kind of rhythm it has, or find a recorded version to listen to.

For starters, it really helps to play songs that you already know well;  it will allow you to hear what you are doing that isworking and what isn't.  That said, YOU get to decide what works for the song you are playing:  one emphatic strum for the measure, or a series a quick up and down strums on the same chord.  The only wrong answer is one that you are not content with the sound of.  Trust yourself, and trust your own ears, and experiment until you find an approach that you like for any particular song.

go well.
