I was starting to work on the Dominator tab for Stars & Stripes and for starters I don't seem to get the ring out of those 8-10 & 12th fret chords. I am assuming it must be my strum technique, I use my forefinger for most faster strumming. My concert uke normally rings the higher notes well, but then that is mostly with the thumb. Wondered if there might be more technique involved to get the desired sound up at the 8 - 12th frets during a fast strum?

I'm not sure if it's much help, but when I play those parts on this song strumming around the 8-12 frets, I'm using pretty much my index finger nail and thumb nail to strum it. Index finger on the down stroke and thumb on up stroke. It does ring better if you're playing it on a better uke. For instance it sounds relatively choked on a Pono tenor compared to a Pineapple Sunday. The diminished chord at the 12th fret could be problematic if you are not fretting it cleaning. There isn't a lot of space in that area to fit 4 fingers on 2 frets so it can be difficult to get a clean ringing sound there. Anyway, I hope that helps a little.
