At the link below, where Israel plays 'White Sandy Beach', he manages to pick melody notes where they ring out best. Aside from his picking at the bitter end of the song, is he in general doing a standard forward or backward or some other roll, or does it look like he's picking his own peculiar way? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_YfyKahP-0&feature=related

That's one interpretation, but Iz appears to be doing a forward roll starting with Low G then strings 3-C, 2-F, 1-A, repeated for a few measures. It's not easy to see when he deviates from this. At times he hits the same string twice. Last edited on Thu Mar 13th, 2008 10:07 pm by ezmember |
