Will has suggested that I learn Tenor chords and play them on my barritone so that I can play from my key of C fake hymn book. Anyone have a PDF that they would share? Tom

There's a chord chart here for the GCEA tuning: http://nfo.net/usa/uke2.html This one might print out better (maybe print out both): http://www.brookadams.com/jumping-flea/pdfs/Uke-Chords.pdf The following link is a two page Chord Chart that prints out well: http://www.ukalady.com/Images/UkeChart.pdf Last edited on Sun Mar 2nd, 2008 08:15 pm by ezmember |

http://www.stefansukulele.com/index.php?option=com_docman&task=cat_view&gid=18&Itemid=50 Open up the PDF for the "Chordchart C Tuned Ukulele". There are 3 pages, but the 3rd page has the chordchart. This is the biggest single-page chart I've found, with 13 chords per note. I keep it on the wall where I play.

scrooner, thanks for that chart! I couldn't find a 'one-page' chart! That makes me happy. Last edited on Sun Mar 2nd, 2008 10:37 pm by ezmember |

Here's my favorite: http://www.ukefarm.com/chordgen/chordchart_GCEA.php I cut and pasted it into a Word document and got it down to exactly 2 printed pages by taking out the horizontal lines. It gives you two versions of sixteen different chords in all twelve keys in a very compact format.

That's a good chart too. Now let me show my ignorance of theory....how come none of the charts show sharps or flats for the D and G? And how come I can't find Dbdim7 on any chart? Last edited on Tue Mar 4th, 2008 03:24 am by ezmember |

Db is the same as C#. So it goes A A#(Bb) B C C#(Db) D D#(Eb) E F F#(Gb) G G#(Ab)

The reason I asked about the chord Dbdim7 is because when I entered C# and 7 and Dim on the chordfinder below (tenor tuning), it showed it to be a C#dim. I wondered where the 7 went. Is the terminology "Db" incorrect? It's the chord name that appears on a song sheet I have as the 2nd chord in the song. http://www.sheep-entertainment.nl/ukulele/index.html

That chordfinder only allows you to pick one note and one 'modifier'. So if you select C# and 7 and dim, it's only going to show you a C#dim. If you select C# and dim and 7, it's going to show you C7. The chordfinder also shows everything either sharp or natural. It doesn't show flats at all (where's Bb?!?) because a Bb is the same as an A#. I don't know why they would choose sharps over flats - that's just the way they are. For Dbdim7, try 0101.

Thanks scrooner, just knowing that the names and appearances of chords is not always done the same way gets rid of some of my confusion, although I wish they'd do it all in a 'standard' way. Music theory is hard enough as it is.
