OK, I want to start learning the notes on the fret board, and I was thinking that it might help me to put something on the fret board, underneath the strings. For example, marking whole notes. The unmarked notes, by default, would be the sharps and flats.
I would do this to my Flea, which has a plastic fretboard. I was thinking something along the lines of dots of White Out or nail polish, or maybe little circle stickers or something.
My question is will this affect the playability of the uke? Will it damage it in some way?
Does anyone have any advice for learning the fretboard? I've seen a couple books that look promising.
I can read music, so I don't just want to use tabs. I know the notes, I just don't know where they are on my fretboard.
