While I keep practicing the material I got from my old instructor, I've come to the realization I am going to have to go the route of book and disc.  I need to hear and really see in order for me to learn best.  I was looking around on U-Tube and found some interesting videos from Jody Kamisato, I think it was from Ukulele Essentials, but I can 't seem to find it anywhere...

Any suggestions on material or finding this Book/DVD....  I liked his approach and I think it would be easier for me to learn cords first then get into picking...  Comments are welcome...

The Ukulele Pua Pua website sells Jody's DVD - I think it's called Island Style.   He also teaches at Ukulele Essence.   He's a very nice guy.

Hey John, I believe those Youtube videos from Jody Kamisato aren't from any DVD's but just something they put on Youtube.

I would highly recommend Roy Sakuma's DVD:

http://bali.globat.com/~roysakuma.net/roysakuma/onlinestore0/product_info.php?sectid=2&prodid=67

I've bought instructional DVD's from Jim Beloff, Ralph Shaw, & Roy Sakuma.  While each of them are very good if I could only choose one I'd choose Roy Sakuma's.  The only problem with Roy's DVD is that it's totally UAS inducing.  He plays tons of great ukes in the DVD and even has a factory tour of 5 Hawaiian uke makers.

Good luck with your search.

Thanks for the recommendation and the site to find the material.

Sorry for being such a Newbie but what does "UAS" mean?

Ukulele Acquisition Syndrome -  happens to all of us.   I'm down to four ukes right now.    I would go with another DVD than Jody's if you are learning to play ukulele.  All the ones that GX9901 recommends are good.   Jody's covers one ukulele factory - and he only has one lesson.     Ralph Shaw's DVD Ukulele Strum Essentials is good...covers all types of strums.    I have not seen Roy's yet.    Jim Beloff's is not bad either - although, most of his songs are not my cup of tea.   Jim's books are good.

As honu said, it is Ukulele Acquisition Syndrome.  And I obviously have a bad case of it.:P
