Hi All: Maybe someone can help me. I will not mention the name of Uke,

I'm having trouble with the C string it resonates to the point that  you are

not able to hear the other notes. At the top of the neck where the plastic piece is,

I found this pushed up around 1/2" on one side ,  I had to replace the 1st & 3rd

string, not sure how long it had been this way. Uke is less than 2 months old and

this has been going on for over a month ( I thought maybe it was me).

I used Aquila Strings. I'm trying to play Clawhammer style.

Thanks In Advance

Heydaye

Hi Heydaye,

I'm not sure what's causing your 3rd string to be that much louder than the others. One thing that might help would be to change all of the strings instead of just a couple.

Thanks Richard: I have to order more strings , I don't want to take any off of

my other Uke as I just had chaged them. I sent a note to the Mfg. hoping to

rec. a response from them. What you said is a good idea.

I wonder if I should try a set with the 3rd string wound? I'll be honest my

$60.00 Tenor sounds better than the one I paid over $200.00 for.

I would feel funny giving the name of the Co. as I'm sure we all have a problem

once in awhile.

Thanks Heydaye

Hi Richard: Wanted to let you know that the Mfg Is replacing my Uke. I only had the

new one around two months, They couldn't understand about the 3rd string

either, but they asked me a lot of questions.

Thanks For All Your Help

By the way I'm thinking of getting  a Banjo , I had a Deering years ago,

but couldn't play bluegrass style, I think I can do clawhammer. Any suggestion?

Haydaye-

If you've played a Deering before, why not check out the Goodtime? I had one until the Chuck Lee I have now seduced me. It is a great learning instrument, and is inexpensive enough to become a camping or beach banjo. The Goldtones are good beginning instruments also.

If you mean to go a little higher, price wise, look at the Deering line again, or maybe the Stelling, as well as some of the upper level Goldtones.

Good luck, and keep us updated on the Clawhammering.

Brad

Brad: Thanks for the info. , I was thinking of getting another Deering.

I just have to get busy. Really enjoy clawhammer style. I started  working

on it around 6 months ago, then I found out  I had been working at it all

wrong, had to start all over but it has been a good learning process.

Thanks Again

Heydaye
