Pied007:  I use the James Hill style for attaching the strap.  I have a pickup at the center of the soundbox which has a block.   The other 'strap pin' is in the center of the back in close proximity where the neck is.  Instead of inserting a strap pin, most uke players use an end-string and attach it to the head.   You can also take it to a luthier.  Make sure you check with a dental mirror to make sure there are 'blocks' in the soundbox to mount the strap pin.  I think there's a picture of it in James Hill's website.  I find it's easier to use a strap, especially playing really fast music such as Jake's.   I also play Hawaiian music and the transitions are faster with a strap.

Preston:  Very cool.   John was telling me that the Aquillas wear out.  I also bought Worth browns, Aquillas and Koolaus from musicguymic at Cerritos.   One of our musician friends swears by Worth browns because it's easier to play, less buzzing than other strings, great for fingerpicking.  I have not tried them.  Will probably install one on the "G" string.   I've got Koolaus on the CEA strings right now.

Honu, I don't have to worry about playing "really fast" so I don't need a strap yet.

If anyone's interested, I have a Pono tenor(PTE) for sale at 350.  Pickup, case, ebony package, this is 459 on ebay now.  I've had this one for about a year, still in like new shape.
