Should I be using my finger to strum or a felt pick? The both sound pretty different, which sound is more desirable?

Thanks!

Most uke players just use their fingers, but of course the ultimate decision is up to you. I'm sure a lot of people always use a felt pick too. It just depends on how you want to sound or maybe how you learned to begin with (if you've always used a pick it might seem hard to use your fingers at first). You ought to try both ways and see what's best for you. I like just using my fingers because it allows me to switch from strumming to fingerpicking without any problem.

I keep a felt pick in my pocket - - but I always strum with my finger.....why?  Does it have something to do with a damaging childhood?
