Anyone have lyrics and chords for Tom Rush's "East of Eden"? Great song, if you haven't heard it.

East of Eden

By Tom Rush and Jack Tempchin

We've come this far and we can't turn back
This trains run out of track.
Seems like, they're ain't no use to try.
Now I'm not one to abandon hope,
But this might be all she wrote,
Our destination fades like smoke into the sky.

And we've come this far and still the same,
Standin' out here in the rain.
Just one more mile, if only you could fly.
Ah and here we are, East of Eden.
So close you can taste the freedom.
Freedom like, like you've never known.
Ah, and East of Eden and the Promised Land
Just a castle made of sand,
Don't it make you wish you could go home.
Ah, don't it make you wish you could go home.

Now and all this time we kept our dream.
Nothin' ever came between.
Finally, we're standin' at the gate.
Ah, the gate is closed, and there's a wall.
I never thought it would be so tall.
Just a piece of paper that seals your fate.

Any child can feel the pain,
But the high and might have no shame.
Where you are, is where you must remain.

Ah and here we are, East of Eden.
So close you can taste the freedom.
Freedom like, like you've never known.
Ah, and East of Eden and the Promised Land
Just a castle made of sand,
Don't it make you wish you could go home.
Ah, don't it make you wish you could go home.

Instrumental break

And we've come this far and still the same,
Standin' out here in the rain.
Just one more mile, if only you could fly.
Ah and here we are, East of Eden.
So close you can taste the freedom.
Freedom like, like you've never known.
Ah, and East of Eden and the Promised Land
Just a castle made of sand,
Don't it make you wish you could go home.
Ah, don't it make you wish you could go home.

I sat down tonight and wrote out the lyrics. Love this song and am adding it to my songlist.

I play this in G, capoed on the 5th fret.

Thanks for your time and effort. It is a great song, and I am amazed that Tom Rush is not more popular. His biggest hit has been the humorus Remember Song. But he has other great ones like No Regrets, River Song, and The Circle Game. If you have "I Tunes", listen to a sample tof them. Thanks again.
