Are you a beginner, experienced or professional bassist? At The Grove Music Studios there are teachers for all levels and all styles who can help you to play on your own or to be a part of a band.

Our tutors can teach you the essential basics of technique(s), posture and hand position(s) music notation, tablature, and music theory. Once these basics are mastered, we move on to studying the role of the bass, focusing on musicality and styles, feel, communication and enjoyment and practical advice on all aspects of playing.

Reading/mapping bass charts, playing in time, playing different parts of the beat/bar as well as different time signatures. Left hand hammer-on and pull-off techniques, bass fretboard theory, bass line construction and aural skills and patience, will assist you when you are engaged to play a professional recording/performance situation. There are many (new) techniques and concepts to help play bass. These methods will be covered in detail through the course.

These lessons are offered at The Grove Music Studios, in a comfortable, friendly and professional environment. Located close to White City on the Latimer Road in west London, these studios also offer rehearsal rooms for bands and recording facilities.

The Grove Music Studios provides other services as well. You can leave your instruments and musical material in our cages or rent whatever equipment you might need. We also offer a comprehensive musical instrument and equipment repair service, for more information contact Nigel on 07 932 870 506.

We offer half hour or one hour lessons. They can be on a weekly basis, but may be extended in duration and frequency. To book a lesson or a course of lessons, send an email to virginie@musicspace.co.uk or call Virginie on 020 8960 9601.

Is this the same Grove that used to be in Los Angeles (maybe still is)?

UF-

When I see a bunch of ads like this I get the feeling that the poster isn't too involved with the forums, just putting out ads to sites they think might bite.

Or, I'm wrong.

I think you're right, of course. I'm always trying to start a conversation with the wrong people.

Dick Grove School of Music in L.A. is actually a place I considered going, before my parents told me they'd disown me if I went there. Let's see, no financial support and a one-in-1000 chance to hone one's skills and "make it" or a real degree financed.

In the end, of course, they turned out the be right. It usually goes that way. Older and wiser, as they say.

Hi Everybody,

We have no relation with the studio in Los Angeles. We are an independent studio based in London.

About all the ads, I just thought that some of forum users may be interested, but not visiting all the different forums. To be sure they will know about our activity, I wanted to be in several forums.

I hope to be too annoying with the different ads.

Virginie
