I've posted pics of my guitars on our NOS (not otherwise specified) website here at ezfolk. I never get tired of looking at guitars, talking about em, revelling in them. It's kind of like a disease. But I wouldn't mind dying from it!!:)

http://www.ezfolk.com/audio/nos

It's on the bottom with pics of two more guitars on the way.

Ohhhhhhhhhh drooooool.......:) I didn't even know Peavy made a tele! I'm with ya...I love looking at em (in my case fixing them up too). Mine are Here...my collection seems to constantly change depending on goodwill deals and trading around with friends. My tele is still patiently waiting for me to get to the point I can do it justice:cool:

Yep I've been up your site before... (I'm not sure if that's a lyric or some sad come on! Yipes!) Love your instruments and love that you look for the best price. I'm kinda proud of playing good instruments I purchased inexpensively. The Peavey was about 125 and the Ohagan about 200 with hard case. Couldn't beat it with a stick.

That Tele is a beauty. I'll bet she sounds wonderful too.

I have a terrible problem...about a month ago I played my first resonator guitar at a music store. I've been back to play it again. I've been spotted searching the net reading about them. I've checked prices. I know brand names. I read all the reviews. I have dreams about them. I'm pissed because Gibson doesn't make the Houndog in a cutaway. I'm wondering if there is any cure for all this. If someone would be kind enough to send me a National Radiotone Bendaway (that's my top choice) I would really appreciate it. That would be a good cure:)

Nice stuff guys , got to love those thrift shop finds ! I've got an old cracked Ibanez that is my house/camper , it doesn't have a case so is always handy . I play it the most . Here's my stuff and a pic of my buddy's J100 , that I get to play a lot on , I feel it's a joint custody sort of thing .  BTW , dig your stuff Alan .

cheers

John

Thanks John,

Nice lil family you got too! On the upper left, looks like a Godin. What is that? My earliest soloing was on a gibson junior SG.. (Lil hands!) It's like a first crush kinda thing. ;-)

Hey Dean, been tremenjiously busy of late. My wife been suffering through kidney stone problems and I've even been missing some work to be home with kids. So I haven't been responsive. I love the idea of trying an original collab and I'd also like to try a Stephen Foster tune as well. Been thinking of Jeannie with the light brown hair kinda bluesy... but I keep getting pictures in my head of Bugs Bunny singing it!!!

Yep that would be the godin , pretty cheap and a gas .Yeah , I like the SG , even though it's only an epi , hell the way I play it you can't tell anyway !

Too bad about the public domain thing as someone said on another forum , NOS covers are almost orignals.

And finally one of my other buddy's just picked up his custom guitar last weekend , worst weather of the winter and he had a 4 hour(in good weather) drive each way to pick it up , had to stay over night . I'll try and post pics , flamed walnut and spuce top . real unique .And I am hoping it will join the joint custody thing ;)

Wow!!! That's a beautiful collection Madog! My brother-in-law in Maine has a FG-450 I get to play when we visit...I LOVE that guitar!

I pray that all goes well with your wife Alan, I hate to hear about the trouble, I hope all is well soon! Take car of your family, the music will be waiting patiently until your wife is back on her feet!

I've been reading some here about Steven Foster, but I don't know much about him or his songs. I'm hoping someone will pick one out and post the words and chords for a co-op song! I also always game to write our own, just haven't had a good starting line come to me lately...I'm due

Yeah Alan , big trouble , my worst fear .Had them once , wanted to shoot myself !Speedy recovery to the mrs.

Richard, the yam was my first playable guitar and I thought I was in heaven when I got it at age 33 ! And it has stood the test of time and held up to years of my pounding . Poor thing doesn't get played for months at a time now though but can't bear the thought of getting rid of it

Here are the pics of my bud's new guitar , folk size. Walnut back and sides , spruce top . Something nice about knowing you have a one of a kind . And the bird on the fret board was drawn by his GF , he asked to have it put on to make it even more personal. This is the 38th guitar by this builder .

Beautifull!!! The bird is a nice touch...sure hope the relationship works out...lest there always be a reminder:shock::cool:  ...it's good to know I'm not the only one around here that believes in fret markers...the more the merrier! You started playin at 33? It would be comforting to know I'm not the only late starter around here:cool:

I had a Yamaha 335...which at my level is still the best acoustic guitar I've "had"...my daughter claimed it...so at least it's still in the family...except she's in school on the east coast...with the guitar:)

Dean

Yeah my buddy is pretty pumped about his new baby . As for starting at 33(1985) , I had a guitar before that for years but it was junk , basically unplayable and back then no electronic tuners .And that thing wouldn't stay in tune for for 2 minutes . So when I finally bought that Yam for $350 I could play an F on it without dying. I'm still your basic kitchen hack but , damm it's fun :D

Well thanks man , I'll tell my bud's , as that's a joint effort . We were just jamming and that song came along . I did the lyrics the next day and did that version so we could practice it unitl we get together again .I'm hoping that we can get a more polished version done with the proper leads and stuff . Thanks again , nice way to start my day , and happy St Paddy's to all .

I'm really looking forward to hearing it when you guys get together on it! It's neat what you can come up with just sitting down and jamming with friends! Speaking of friends...thank's to my buddy Tim3Finger, I have a new guitar! He spotted this baby on ebay with a very low buy-it-now price (obviously the seller was strapped and needed some fast cash)...and he snatched it up in minutes. The guitar isn't quite Tim's style, but he knew I was looking for something like it. Thanks again Tim!!! He sold it to me yesterday for a whopping $75. It's a mint 2001 Ibanez full bodied F-hole acoustic electric! I spent some time setting it up right, put flatwound jazz strings on it...and it's as close as I ever been to the perfect guitar:guitar1:

Thanks you'all:)

I played it for about 4 straight hours yesterday...real hard, it's been a long time since I blistered my fingers and woke up with a sore wrist:)  I'm getting used to it, and getting the fret board funked in. It played stiff like a new guitar for awhile...I don't think anyone ever played it. I really like the bridge set-up for lots of resting/muting room for the right hand. I wish it had a pick guard...I can see my clumbsyness messing up the finish top and bottom of the strings...but then, I got it to play not look pretty. I put some backing tracks on, and just went away:cool:. I even admitted to Jan last night that it may ease my desire for the Reso cutaway I mentioned above. And she even gave me the ok to get one:shock::shock::shock:...but, the reso only has 18 frets, and the more I play, the more I use em all:cool:
