Richard -

I don't know if others are having this problem, too, but maybe, since I notice several double posts lately.

When I reply to a thread and hit the "reply" button, my browser indicates that it is sending the information to ezFolk. It never finishes, and if I wait long enough will give me a time out message. The post will be there, if I go back and look.

If I click the 'stop loading' button, the post is also there, although neither method will tell me that I have successfully completed the reply.

I do not have trouble on the other 4 forums I am active on, so I'm wondering if it is a glitch here.

It started yesterday sometime.

Brad

EDIT: I waited for the timeout this time, and it doubleposted.

Yep, it just happened to me, too! And also the thread which I responded to doesn't show there's a new reply!

Cheers,
Annika

Hey... I just got back from being out of town and not having computer access for a couple of days so I'm just getting the message.

I'm not sure what the problem is but I've deleted several of the double posts. This has happened before in the past and cleared up on its own after a couple of days so let's see how it goes.

I've got a bunch of work to catch up on but I'll try to keep an eye out for double posts and delete them when they occur, so don't worry about it happening.

The script we use for the MP3 section is coming out with a major upgrade before the end of July and it will have an integrated forum. I haven't seen it working yet but my plan is to start using that forum as the main forums on ezFolk and just keep this old forum for reference for the approximately 25,000 messages it contains. We'll see how that works out soon.

I think the problem with the forums and the MP3 section were both due to a server overload, and I believe the problem is fixed now. (Guess I'll find out when I post this.)

Yep... I'm pretty sure things are back to normal, but let me know if anybody runs into problems.

Thanks, Richard - I knew you'd take care of it when you found out.

Yes, I hope you can keep or archive the existing posts - it's too bad we don't have an archive from way back in the beginning, but I guess those old days are lost in the one's and zero's of cyberspace.

It would be a pity to lose so much good information that exists here. Please give us some notice if you aren't able to keep an archive, I would like to save some resource links just in case.

Brad

EDIT: Yup - appears to be fixed!

We'll definitely keep all of the messages that are already posted on this forum, even if we switch to the new forum. If the new forum works out well I'll probably just close this one to new members and the addition of new messages. At that time all of the members of the MP3 section will automatically be members of the forum, so that integration of the two section should be helpful and less confusing.

:thumbs1:
