Richard-

I just uploaded a video in .mov format. The instructions say it uploaded fine, but when I try to view it, my iMac says it is a a playlist.smi file and won't open.

Is this something to worry about? I can play my other 2 clawhammer videos fine.

Brad

Hey Brad,

I was able to play it but I had to download the latest version of Quicktime before it would play...

http://www.apple.com/quicktime/win.html

It depends on a user's computer setup, but I think overall the WMV format, which is what your other two videos use, is the best for videos on ezFolk.

Thanks, Richard.

I've had 2 other people try to play the video from the play button. Doesn't work for them, either. I made it downloadable too, and it will download as a .mov file and play fine. The problem is everybody is on Firefox, so maybe that has something to do with it.

If anybody else has tried to play the Chair Caning video on my artist's site, please let me know if you were able to view it or not, and what browser and OS you are running.

Thanks,

Brad

Caning video plays with no problem via mplayer, the other two seem to want to open in Totem Movie Player and won't play at all.

I'm using Ubuntu Linux v6.something and Firefox v1.5.0.11.

Thanks, guys.

I've taken the video down since I finally got room on my Prickly Pear Music site to put it up.

The iMovie feature on my iMac only creates .mov files, so going to wmv's isn't an option at this point. Maybe someday I can find a free converter, but until then. . .
