Hello, all! I have a renewed interest in, and indeed, renewed motivation for, learning to play the didgeridoo, however I would like to record myself, to determine whether any progress is being made. Does anybody else play and record didge here? If so, how? I can't seem to get the didge close enough to the mike- and I'm very near a bookshelf full of ornaments in my PC area, so I don't want to try and get any closer.. Any info would be appreciated. Shady.

I would recommend getting equipment that will free you from being tied to the computer work station, including: a microphone boom stand, and a universal spring-type microphone clip, and a microphone extension cable. What kind of microphone are you using? If it's made for recording on a computer, it may not be the best type for recording music (they are often optimized for speech and may have a limited frequency range). The mike might also have a short cord, so you'll need to get an extension cable, most likely a stereo one with 1/8" plugs. I found these through the Amazon UK web site, http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000IL113Q/kelkoompcpc-21/ref=nosim ![]() ![]() ![]()

http://image.bizrate.com/resize?sq=160&uid=11297744 The above URL directs you to an image of the mic I currently use. I know it's not brilliant, but I do not really record much, so it suits my needs. (Or did, up til now.)

Recording didgeridoo has been done before. I don't see why it should be different than any other instrument. However, I think if you plan to record didgeridoo please consider that this instruments is sacred in some cultures and use it according...but I'm sure you allready new that...hahaha
