I've tried cleaning it by running hot water through it, but it still sounds out. its a diatonic harmonica, only had it about a month. The exhale on note number 7 in too high pitched, sometimes it wont even play when I exhale through it. How do i get it back to its normal pitch, or am i going to have to replace my harmonica already?

Open it up - you'll likely find a hair blocking the reed.

Usually a harmonica reed goes flat when it is broken (eventually they crack at the base). This doesn't seem to be the problem here, so your instrument can probably be fixed with some minor adjustment (e.g. hair removal as suggested). An article on basic harmonica maintenance is at http://www.harmonicaacademy.com/categories/20090103_1 You may find it helpful Last edited on Sat Apr 18th, 2009 11:59 pm by harmonicatunes ____________________ Tony Eyers http://www.harmonicatunes.com ...everyone plays |
