Hi Folks, After updating my list of tunes playable without bending reeds, I thought I would look around the net for a good place for diatonic harmonica tabs. It is one thing to have a list, but many people also want the tabs to go with it. Quite honestly, I have found it difficult to to find a site on the net that has ascii tabs that are constantly reliable and accurate. The excellent 'Tabledit' tabs, such as our host Richard produces, are a rare commodity on the net. However, I have found a good site that has many of the tunes I have in my list, and many more besides. Once again I found that many of the tabs could be played in the lower half of the harmonica with the 'Paddy Richter' tuning. You will find the site @ http://www.1000harmonicatabs.com/ For those that would like to play these tunes in a blues style, the great harmonica teacher John Gindick has a book out with a CD called 'Bluesify Your Melody' which might be of interest. You can see and hear John talking about this book and demonstrating a couple of the 'bluesified' melodies on You Tube at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1u9Ctm9uyNc Happy harping, Roger Last edited on Wed Apr 30th, 2008 08:23 am by Roger |
