I've started working on some harmonica tutorial videos for the harmonica section. Each video will have simple on-screen tablature telling you which hole you should be playing. There's only 10 holes so it ain't rocket science. A plus sign (+) means blow and a minus sign (-) means draw. That's mostly all you need to know.

The first video, Danny Boy, is up and running and you can see it here...

All of the videos will be specifically for the Lee Oskar Melody Maker harmonica in the key of G, so if you want to play the tabs you'll need one of those. If you can't get one locally you can find them through our affiliate link here (I'd appreciate it!)...

As some of you know, besides Lee Oskar himself I'm the world's biggest proponent of the Melody Maker harmonica, and I'm hoping that by doing some videos it will give people a better idea of why it's such a great harp and also help people learn to play since there's no other instructional material for it. Just speaking for myself, I was one of the world's worst harmonica players -- possibly even worse than Bob Dylan :fear: -- and after about 30 years of frustration I stumbled across the Melody Maker and now I sound about 10 times better than I used to. For me the harmonica has always been just a side instrument to fill in between verses I'm singing so I've never really worked at it and I'll never be great, but this makes me sound pretty good compared to the old screeching I used to do.

Your questions and comments are welcome!

Hi Richard!

Your performance is brilliant, I'd sell my soul to play the harp just half that good!!

Thanks for posting!
