Hey, all-

In the midst of moving to the new homestead, but had to put this up before I forgot it.

Got the new Musicians' Friend Catalog the other day - there are some great prices on the fiddles in there. The one I bought is down to $70 or so, and the top model is just under $100.

Mine sounds good, and seems well made.

Well, back to packin', tossin', totin' and sweatin' (of course, it's right in the middle on Monsoon season here in the desert)

:thumbs2: keep on pickin'

Hey Brad,

Good to see you back... thought you abandoned us. Glad you're doing good with the fiddle. I bought one on eBay that seemed nice. Got it, tuned it up, hung it on the wall, got out of the mood, and sold it at my yard sale a few weeks ago. Oh well. Hard to play everything.

Good luck with the move!

:salute:

;)You might want to try International Violin in Virginia.  the sell both wholesale and retail and will help pick out an instrument.  they have Chinese Cremonas and Czech Strunals for sale.

BTW I am looking for a good Teffile or Notation for Festival Waltz by Kenny Baker

Volare-

Try the tab here:

http://www.jaybuckey.com/Festival%20Waltz%20(Fiddle,%20Mandolin).pdf

I don't know how close it is to Kenny's version, but it should be a good start.
If you don't like the .pdf version, I'll transcribe it to .tef for you.

Edit: By the way, I have taken two classes so far, and they have really helped me get some of the technique down. I am keeping a log on my homepage. Although the instructor is not using music, on my own I am getting "Ashokan Farewell" and "Home on the Range" under control. I hope to use the fiddle for my co-op contribution to HOTR(ange).

:2banjo: I just got lost in thought. It was unfamiliar territory.
