Some important information is included in your user profile so be sure to go over each item. Please note that this is personal information, not artist information. Your artist information is changed on your “Modify Artist” page.

To edit your user profile, click on “Profile” in the menu on the top right side of your control panel.

The profile page is rather long so I’ve divided it into a couple sections. Underneath the graphic I’ll explain a little about each entry.

Here is the first part:

Real Name:  Enter your actual name here. This won’t be published anywhere. It’s just so we know who’s who.

Email Address:  Enter your Email address that is associated with this account.

Address:  (optional) You can enter your regular mailing address here, but that’s optional.

Gender:  Please let us know whether you are male or female.

Birthdate:  (optional) Enter your birthdate here.

Website:  (optional) If you have another website, enter the full address here. Your other site can be something such as a MySpace address or CD Baby or any other site you use.

IM Number:  (optional) Enter your IM number.

Control Panel Language: English is the default. Currently there are two other choices (Chinese and French) but I’m not sure how well they work so if they give you trouble you might want to stick with English.

Control Panel Skin:  Using the drop-down menu you can choose a variety of different looks for your control panel. Feel free to give them a try and see which you like best. Below is a graphic showing current options:

Here is the bottom part of the profile page:

Show Email Address:  Check this box if you want your Email address to be visible to other users.

Hide Online Status:  If this is checked, other users will not be able to see that you are online.

Accept Private Notes:  Check this if you would like to receive private notes from other members.

Email Notification: If this is checked, the ezFolk system will notify you via Email when you receive a note through the ezFolk message system. It’s best to check this if you also check yes on “Accept Private Notes.”

Share Your Favorites: If this is clicked, other members will be able to view the favorites you have set up in your “Favorites” directory.

Upload New Image:  Choose a profile image from your computer. Note that this is different than your artist photo, which is set in the “Modify Artist” section of your control panel. The profile photo is the small photo seen when you become a fan or leave a note in a guestbook or when you appear on the Community page and other areas.

Select Gallery Image:  If you already have an image uploaded to ezFolk that your would like to use as your profile image, click “Launch Image Browser” to choose it.

Change Password:  Enter the appropriate information if you would like to change your password. You have to know your old password in order to use this option. If you have forgotten your password you can retrieve it by following the instructions on the login page.
