This is the opening song in the movie, “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” In the movie it’s played only on acoustic guitar and in the key of C. If you listen to my MP3
recording for guitar you’ll notice that I recorded it similar to the way it was played in the movie with just guitar in the key of C. All of the banjo arrangements I made
are in the key of G, which is fine if it’s okay for your voice -- it’s a little low for me but my voice is kind of high so G might suit most people better. If you
prefer the key of C just capo up to the 5th fret and play there. Remember of course that your 5th string will need to be capoed up 5 frets too with either railroad spikes or a 5th
string capo.
Note: The MP3 below is played only on guitar (no banjo) but it will help you learn the tune if you don’t know it.
